YPA Arts Weekly | Feb. 18-24

February 17, 2019 by Young Professionals in the Arts in Weekly Round-Up

Happy President’s Day, everyone! We hope most of you have today off and are enjoying a long weekend. For those of us who will be in our offices today, let’s find that amazing playlist that will make us hunker down and get through this Monday. We’re also celebrating Black History Month and have been pouring over the many articles and images in Google Arts & Culture’s page in our Read section. We’ve received quite a few job opportunities through our network, so go ahead and Apply if interested, and if you’re not looking for a new job at the moment, enjoy the events we picked out for you and Go.

YPA Arts Weekly | Feb. 11-17

February 10, 2019 by Young Professionals in the Arts in Weekly Round-Up

This week the College Art Association’s Annual Conference arrives to town and we hope you take advantage of their generous Pay-As-You-Wish policy. It’s perfect for non-members, those not able to afford the steep ticket price, or those who can only attend a few sessions throughout the week. Also featured this week is Fractured Atlas’s staff page outlining their company policies and employee resources. We found this entire site incredibly informative. The transparency and support this arts organization gives its workers should be an industry standard. And though not all of the resources are relevant for a Fractured Atlas outsider, we recommend the Autonomy, Decisions & Conversations, and Aligning Objectives sections. More arts resources and tips in our Read, Go, and Apply sections below—and onward Young Professionals!

YPA Arts Weekly | Dec. 3 - 9

December 02, 2018 by Young Professionals in the Arts in Weekly Round-Up

It’s the last sprint to the holiday break and doesn’t December just always feel a little too short? So many holiday parties, drinks, year-end festivities to go to before we wind down this year. While enjoying those cocktails, there’s always a chance to expand your network, and in READ we share an article on how to do so. This week we’re also loving the interview with one of our YPA Members Luiza Teixeira-Vesey from NYFA. We share mostly free events in our GO section, we know budget’s are tight during gifting season but that doesn’t mean you have to cut down on your outings. Under APPLY this week, we’re sharing a very special opportunity to volunteer with us! We would love to hear from you if you’re interested in contributing and gaining experience at the same time. Write us :)

November 05, 2018 by Young Professionals in the Arts in Weekly Round-Up

Let’s make sure we all get out and vote tomorrow, folks! Find your local NYC poll site here, if you haven’t done so already, and execute your civic duty. If the political climate has you looking for a little hope, read about how an entire community helped a local bookstore move in our READ section. In GO we’re already looking ahead to next week’s YPA November Event, join us at the ICP Young Patrons Party. If you’ve always looked for an easy way to borrow any type of equipment (electronics, photography, film, etc.), there’s now a site for that called Fat Llama (see below). Lastly, a good way to always keep your career on its toes is to check out job opportunities under APPLY.
